North Mankato Mayor Scott Carlson and City Administrator Kevin McCann joined Lisa Kaye on In the Spotlight to discuss the city’s upcoming legislative decisions, infrastructure updates, and a full calendar of community events.
Topping municipal business is the finalization of the city budget and property tax levy limits, along with an upcoming public hearing and council vote on a proposed one-year moratorium on data centers larger than 150,000 square feet, allowing leaders time to study environmental and infrastructure impacts. Mayor Carlson also shared updates on the reconstruction of the Spring Lake Park swim facility, highlighting new multi-age play features, expanded deck space, and engineering solutions designed to handle high water tables ahead of its reopening.
