Broadband updates from Redwood County

I’m pleased to share an update from Redwood County on what’s happening with Broadband in their area, based on Redwood Area Development Corporation email newsletter…

Through the efforts of the Redwood County Broadband Steering Committee and the Blandin Foundation, we have received 10 grants to improve the use of broadband for our county!   The Redwood Area Schools has received funding for new smart boards for Early Childhood Education, Community Education is offering an entire series of 23 technology classes open to all to attend and learn, Redwood Area Hospital is just launching their new tele-health initiative, Redwood Falls Library received 20 new computers, the RedRock School district received funding for 20 Chromebooks for public access and teaching technology classes to your business and the public along with funding for a new 3-D printer, 50 plus families received free computers from PCs for People this past spring which was like Christmas for those families, LSIC received funding to assist in offering hotspots in their facilities, Redwood County received funding to establish our Redwood Connect Technology Training Center with 12 dedicated computers for both public and county use for training purposes, and the County is offering GIS to the Public a great new tool for use by everyone about property research. Now we are gathering additional information for all of you about your broadband service at home and at your business.
