Celebrating 99th birthday wish via Skype

It’s hard to resist a story of broadband bringing a family together. The Lakefield Standard just highlighted a fun story about a woman in Lakefield who, for her 99th birthday wanted to see her daughter in Red Wing. She had just moved into the local residential health care center. Southwest Minnesota Broadband Services got word of the birthday wish and it sounds like many people scrambled both in Lakefield and Red Wing – but in the end the connection was made…

“The whole thing involved a lot of compassionate people,” Sherack said. … “Something like this could only happen in a small community and we are all thankful.”

It might take a small community – but a little high tech support and broadband help too.
