Here’s my favorite promotional story of the day. Red Wing MN has a channel on YouTube. According to the Red Wing Republican Eagle, in the past 8 months the city’s 21 videos posted to YouTube have been viewed 2,665 times. The average age of the registered YouTube viewers who watched Red Wing’s videos is between 24 and 30 years old.
The videos are varied but I love ‘em. I work with a resort that has been posting videos online too and it’s been fun to see the response. It’s a great way to promote a town, or a resort, or a business – especially if you want to reach a younger audience. It requires broadband to upload and view but video is worth 1000 words and people post comments creating a sense of community.
