A new utility services company specializing in underground fiber construction, MC Fiber launched in late September, according to a news release from Meeker Cooperative Light and Power and Vibrant Broadband in Litchfield.

It is the goal of MC Fiber to provide fiber access to large areas while focusing on quality work, efficiency and safety. To do this, the company will utilize their expertise in plowing, cable pulling and blowing as well as directional boring for mainline and drop fiber projects, according to the news release.

Since 1952, the company has grown from a telephone company to one which offers high-speed internet, digital television and information technology services to businesses and individuals in Minnesota.

Meeker Cooperative Light and Power is an electrical co-op that serves communities in and around Meeker County. The cooperative has been serving the area as a co-op for almost 90 years, starting in 1935.
