C|Net looks at Governor Walz’s take on technology…

“It is the honor of a lifetime to join Kamala Harris in this campaign,” Walz said on X. “I’m all in. Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school.”

Emissions and EVs could be spotlighted under Walz as VP; he pushed through stricter vehicle emissions standards for Minnesota in a bid for more electric cars and hybrid vehicles, with his clean car standards established in 2021.

Walz has emphasized the importance of government investment in technology. He could also continue the push to make deepfakes illegal — Walz last year signed into Minnesota law a deepfake bill that makes it a criminal offense to disseminate non-consensual deepfake images.

On the finance side, Walz has signed into law state loan forgiveness programs and has worked on increased funding for education.
