Secret recipe for inclusive community vitality? Complex Adaptive Coalitions – Blandin Broadband Lesson Learned from Thomas Friedman

The Blandin Foundation is great for taking a look back on lessons  learned and lessons passed onto others. A big thinking point in the last two years was a keynote talk from Thomas Friedman from the 2020 Blandin Broadband Conference. He spoke about Complex Adaptive Coalitions – a system of moving pieces, changing often unpredictably but to adapt to the environment. The Blandin Foundation has helped facilitate Complex Adaptive Coalitions spurred by need for better broadband in many rural Minnesota communities -but as the stories told in the video reveal, getting better broadband is not always the best outcome of the initiative for the local community…
