  1. I just wanted to say thank you for the blog. I just found out about it after learning from our city that Mediacom had been awarded a grant to install high-speed internet for Fayal Township. I guess the announcement was last year but I never heard about it until now.

Our lake property is located there and we have been on 1.5mbps down Centurylink for over 10 years. What a miserable experience on today’s internet. Even though we don’t live up there full time, many on the lake and surrounding area do so I am most happy for them. Some have been on latent satellite for equally as long so I’m sure they will beyond thrilled once they start using what we in the cities take for granted.

Fayal said the crew is finishing work on another project and so work on ours should be starting soon with Mediacom mailing out information.

Exciting times. The home-networking nerd in me can now begin to plan a nice Ubiquiti wireless network now for our place. 😉
