According to Fargo’s WDAY, legislators Rep Paul Marquart, Sen Kent Eken and Rep Ben Lien spoke at a Eggs & Issues event in Moorhead hosted by the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce. They were all apparently pleased with how things went but when asked which issues still need work…
Marquart said more needs to be done to make sure rural parts of Minnesota have the same broadband access as metro areas.
“We want to make sure that businesses in rural Minnesota can compete globally and if you don’t have high-speed internet, it’s not going to happen,” Marquart said.
Lien agreed that health care and broadband are important issues, but added that education also deserves attention, including the idea of student debt forgiveness for people who are working.
