Senator Ruud explains the rural need for broadband

Senator Carrie Ruud of District 10 speaks with Heidi Holton of KAXE about her role bringing the rural perspective to the Legislature. For example – How do you get broadband to every home when you have driveways that are two miles apart?

The Senator also appreciates that we need to get greatest bang for buck with investment in broadband in rural areas – because there are students who need access for homework, elderly (and others) who need access to telemedicine and anyone who needs to fill out a government form needs access.

Listen here.

You can hear more from Senator Ruud at the today’s industry conference on broadband: MN Policy Conference: Broadband Networks, the Backbone of the 21st Century – in St Paul.
