Lake of the Woods: e-business training & wi-fi spots

KarlSamp2Thanks to Karl Samp for the update on broadband adoption activities in Lake of the Woods (a Blandin Broadband Community)…

This week, on Monday, the Lake of the Woods County steering committee met to share updates on projects.

Three three-hour Internet training classes for businesses/organizations were held with strong attendance (10-15 at each) and great feedback. Great Job, Katie P.! More classes will be held in the future, both for businesses, but also elders, and others.

The Library has their iPads, projector and screen in place but now need their new wireless router that can accommodate more simultaneous usage. That is part of the community Wi-Fi project and will be hopefully installed in 12-15 sites over the summer. Wi-Fi posters and roadside signs will also be developed to help drive users to the sites.

The Brink (senior) Center is now fully equipped, and now working on getting everything ready for internet/computer training classes, and usage for the community.
