Intergenerational Digital Literacy Training in Two Harbors

Thanks to Karl Samp and Kris Lee for the story and pictures from the front lines. Two Harbors is part of the Blandin Broadband Communities cohort…

Students at Two Harbors high school volunteered this past Tuesday night to assist seniors in the community with their technology questions. Seniors were able to bring their own devices or use iPads and computers provided by the schools. The student and senior partners covered everything from social media to smart phones to Windows 8. They also talked about common interests and events happening in the community. Most of the students had already volunteered at a similar workshop this fall. The students arranged their schedules to be available that night and were excited to come back. We think we’ve started a great tradition in the community that will continue for years to come.
