Update on broadband in Southwest MN: iPads everywhere!

KarlSamp2Thanks to Karl Samp for the update on BBC Community Southwest MN Broadband Services

Last Friday, the Southwest MN Broadband Services BBC committee met in Lakefield to review progress and talk about new plans. iPads are in use at the hospital (Sanford) in Jackson, business training classes and Social Media Breakfast are continuing and attendance is very good, and WiFi Hotspots are being identified and equipment ordered.

A new round of projects will bring an infusion of devices into the smaller schools of rural Jackson (and Nobles) County, and the Jackson Public Library, including iPads for check out by local organizations, including preschools, for per-literacy skill building (while having fun!) Also, another round of PCs for People computers will be distributed to families of those same schools.

The 6090 Corridor Economic Development initiative continues to move forward with great enthusiasm.
