Thanks to Milda Hedblom for sending me the details on the upcoming TISP meeting. Please note the change in date.

And now I’m off to Dublin. It was great to be home and see so many blog readers at the Blandin Conference 2 weeks ago!

THE METRO REGIONAL BROADBAND TASK FORCE:
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO

The METRO Regional Broadband Task Force was formed in 2007 with a vision of supporting Big Broadband to the home. The inspiration for the Task Force was provided by a meeting hosted by Dakota County in December, 2006, where more than 200 gathered and endorsed the concept of regional collaboration in fiber development.

The METRO Regional Broadband Task Force is based on that endorsement. It recognizes that the coordination of the provisioning of broadband should be considered on a regional level. Strategic planning by public entities for widespread access to and use of larger broadband is now firmly part of the public vision. Task Force Members have begun common work and now wish to report on the formation of the organization, on the projects currently underway and to expand support for Task Force work and membership.

Please join us for this important discussion.
