Minnesota broadband policy has been largely led by the voices of providers—until now. This year a broad user coalition, known as the GIG Group, inaugurated a new approach leading to legislative consideration of a bill known as High Speed MN (House File 2107 & SF 1918). Its goal is to achieve 1 Gigabit access statewide by the year 2015 and calls for clear executive leadership to achieve Minnesota broadband policy goals. Businesses, cities and policy leaders have endorsed the bill, and further action to solidify support is planned. You are cordially invited to this program which will discuss GIGABIT broadband goals, answer why those goals are essential for Minnesota competitiveness and well being, and debate what needs to be done to reach them.
