I wrote about this new partnership in May (2025), when the Brainerd Dispatch wrote about it. This week, we see the story from the lens of the Wadena Pioneer Journal…
West Central Telephone Association is proud to be part of a growing alliance dedicated to expanding high-speed broadband access in rural Minnesota.
Originally formed by Emily Cooperative Telephone Company and West Central, the Tri-Co Technologies Partnership has now welcomed Paul Bunyan Communications (PBC) of Bemidji and Consolidated Telephone Company (CTC) of Brainerd, under the new banner of Tremolo Communications.
The Tremolo Communications partnership brings together four trusted rural broadband cooperatives under a single vision: expanding connectivity through local leadership, shared expertise, and long-term community investment.
This development highlights West Central’s continued dedication to delivering fast, reliable internet to rural communities.
“We believe that by bringing together the strengths and expertise of Tri-Co, PBC and CTC, we can accelerate broadband access and deliver long-lasting benefits to the communities we serve,” said Jon Loeffen, CEO and general manager of West Central. “This partnership reflects a shared commitment to innovation, local investment, and bridging the digital divide in rural areas.”
