The Office of Broadband Development has shared data for wireline broadband by county (Updated Oct 2023), which is the first step to me doing the broadband profiles so expect some charts and ranking and then a lot of profiles in the next few weeks. This chart looks at access to Gig access. It’s a chance to congratulate the folks who are in a good position and maybe inspire folks who need a push. If you look at the list rural counties are leading the pack. Also, percentage of coverage ranges from 100 percent (in 2 counties!) to less than one percent in two counties. That’s quite a gap.
(I’ll be sharing a few quick ranking posts today. You can download the spreadsheet of data for posts on access to 25/3, 100/20 and Gig for easier manipulation.)
