I am doing the annual look at broadband in each county – based on maps from the Office of Broadband Development and news gathered from the last year.
Scott County broadband ranking has bumped up from 15 to 14 since the last mapping. The county has a little work to get ubiquitous coverage but what coverage they have is 100/20 speeds so they are building for the future.
Mediacom has announced Gig upgrades for portions of Scott County (Scott County: Belle .Plaine, Credit River Twp., Elko – New Market, Prior Lake, Savage, Spring Lake Twp.).
Info on Access:
| Speeds | % served 2017 | % served 2018 |
| 25/3 | 96.10 | 83.47 |
| 100/20 | 88.38 | 88.61 |
The speeds reflect the Minnesota speed goals:
- 25 Mbps down and 3 up by 2022
- 100 Mbps down and 20 up by 2026
Current ranking for 100/20 access: 14
