Interactive Town Hall Meeting in Mille Lacs County

I am always happy to hear about ways broadbadn is used to help increased civic engagement, so I was interested in hearing about a recent Town Hall Meeting of the Mille Lacs County Board earlier this week. The “live” meeting was held at the Borgholm Town Hall, but citizens were also invited to attend and participate at either the Wahkon City Hall or Historic Courthouse (Milaca) via interactive web.

So folks at all three locations were able to follow the action – and more importantly interact with the meeting leaders and attendees from their remote locations. What a great way to encourage participation. It would be great to see the outreach expand to include schools and/or elder care facilities. Anywhere with potentially engaged citizens.

Mille Lacs County is a BBC participant; this is a BBC (Blandin Broadband Community) project.
