FCC’s Rural Broadband Experiments Program Opens New Opportunities

On January 30th, the Federal Communications Commission adopted a new program – open to all providers (incumbent & competitive, private & public) — to fund broadband test beds in high-cost, rural areas. As the first step in the process, the Commission wants entities interested in participating to submit non-binding expressions of interest on projects they believe best meet the program’s objectives. The deadline for filing is March 7th. Earlier this month, the Fiber to the Home Council and the American Cable Association held webinars with FCC staff discussing the program. Now we want to ensure you know what should be included when you file an expression of interest.
