Earlier this afternoon the Intelligent Community Forum announced their Smart21 communities. It’s kind of a prestigious award. The scope is international and as their reputation grows, so grows the pool of candidates. Dakota County (led by Dakota Future) made the list for the fourth year in a row. A big congrats to them!
If the name Intelligent Community Forum rings a bell with regular readers, there’s a reason. The Minnesota Intelligent Rural Communities (MIRC) initiative builds successful communities based on the framework developed by the Intelligent Community Forum (IFC) with the help of one of the ICF founders, Robert Bell. The framework focuses on five main areas:
- Broadband
- Marketing & Advocacy
- Digital Inclusion
- Innovation
- Knowledge Workers
