Little Crow Telemedia Network Update

The IP VCR has been used many times since we installed it.

We recorded our Veterans Day connection to Iraq to “bring home” by video a local pastor.

We have used to record training sessions for Erate, Online Testing and Financial training.

It has become an expected thing for us to record videoconferencing session for anybody to watch later, what a great great tool!

Currently the Director of the LCTN, a 19 district cooperative bringing ITV and Broadband Internet to schools in West Central Minnesota. We connect each school to our Gig WAN. We share Internet services betwen all 19 distticts, getting very cost effecient access for all schools. In addition we have a videoconferencing MCU in order to connect each schools codec as well as to resources outside our network. We also have cooperative servers that run video streaming applications to email filtering all as part of our cooperative assessment.

  1. The IP VCR is just standard fare, our teachers and principals just expect us to record events for later playback. The fact that we can shift time or that we have this wonderful asset is almost lost on them as they just think it is something everyone has available! But that is the way it should be, the technology is transparent and they get what they need when then need it! Technology integration at its best!

    Cheers
