MPR looking for rural broadband stories

Minnesota Public Radio is looking for folks to talk about rural broadband. Here’s the blurb from the web site:

Does faster internet mean stronger communities?

The Minnesota Ultra High-Speed Broadband Task Force will soon make recommendations to the Legislature on how to spend the stimulus money set aside for improving broadband access in Minnesota. What does — or would — broadband access mean to you and your community?

If you’re interested, there’s a form right on their web site to fill out.

  1. I am coordinating the broadband initiative for Troy Township in St. Croix County, WI. We are applying for stimulas money to put in FTTH for the entire township. We surveyed residents and 40% have home businesses plus many telecommute, making high speed essential. There are many other benefits: home schooling, public access, ties for law enforcement and safety, telehealth, etc. If you would like comments from your eastern neighbor, I would be happy to provide them.

  2. Warren,

I think you’d be a great resource for them. You just have to fill out the form here: http://tinyurl.com/ylpgxba
