BEAD updates

The BEAD Pre-Qualification process began in Minnesota on January 27 and will close at midnight on February 27. Registration information and guides on using the portal are available on the OBD BEAD webpage. As a reminder, any Internet Service Provider (ISP) potentially interested in participating in any of the anticipated 3 rounds of BEAD (exact dates to be determined for rounds 11a-c) must complete the BEAD Pre-Qualification Process.

Additionally, on the BEAD Pre-Qualifcation process:

  • If you have any technical questions on using the BEAD Grantor Portal, please email mnhelpdesk@ready.net.
  • View a demo of the Bead Grantor Portal from the January 28 BEAD office hours.
  • Participants need to fill out the “Organization Profile” before completing the Pre-Qualification. While some of the information is prepopulated, you will need to check for completeness, and edit your information if needed.

The BEAD FAQs were updated on February 10 and are available as PDFs on OBD’s webpage. Please plan to submit all questions on the BEAD Pre-Qualification process to deed.broadband@state.mn.us by February 20 to ensure answers are posted ahead of when the Pre-Qualification portal closes at midnight on February 27.
