To celebrate National Consumer Protection Week, I thought I’d gather some resources related to broadband and digital equity. In the spirit of full disclosure and as a way to introduce a resource for folks who provide digital equity support, I got the idea from the NDIA (National Digital Inclusion Alliance) listserv. Great for techie conversations and resource sharing.
- The National Cybersecurity Alliance has guides on scams, online safety and privacy basics.
- Senior Planet provides online training, classes and article to help folks better understand online interactions. It targets older folks but would be helpful to a wider audience.
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau hosts information on cyber-related issues including Identity Theft and Fraud Alert.
- Minnesota IT Services has online safety tips for kids.
- Northstar Digital Literacy hosts a range of classes, testing and a database of classes that help boost technical skills, from basic to work-ready.
