100G & Beyond: free webinar on Dec 6

Looks like an interesting, albeit aspirational, webinar…

100G & Beyond: Preparing for the Terabit Era

Sponsors: Alcatel-Lucent, Huawei, Infinera
Host: Sterling Perrin, Senior Analyst, Heavy Reading

Date: Thursday, December 06, 2012
Time: 12:00 p.m. New York / 5:00 p.m. London / 11:00 a.m. Minnesota

While 100G is just beginning to hit its stride, industry participants are beginning to clamor about the next transport speed beyond 100G. Is it too early to have this discussion? We don’t think so. For one, the industry hasn’t even settled on what the next-gen transport speed will be: Is it 400G? 500G? Or 1 Terabit? In addition, as history has shown, commercializing and standardizing a new transport can take five years, or more. This webinar will outline the state of 100G transport today and then lay out the key issues and requirements across the supply chain – from network operators down through components – for moving beyond 100G. The foundation for the terabit era of tomorrow must be set today.
