Muni FTTH Networking Day

Thanks to David Russell for sending me a note on an upcoming event he’s organizing in Nashville for anyone dealing (or thinking about dealing with) a municipal fiber network. It looks like a great event – I wish I could be there.

Here’s a little more info I grabbed from the event web site:

Municipal Fiber-to-the-Home Networking Day – Wednesday, February 20th, Nashville, TN

A day dedicated to fostering communication and sharing information between municipalities considering or already deploying Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH)

The day will have no vendor pitches and no PowerPoint presentations. The day will include discussions organized around specific topics of interest led by moderators and plenty of time to network with peers from other Municipalities.

The event is free and is open only to Municipal employees and discussion moderators. Moderators include Tim Nulty from Burlington Vermont, who was very interesting at the Blandin Conference last November. I think fellow Blandin blogger and community coach, Bill Coleman will be there as well. You can register online.

Place: Sheraton Downtown Nashville
623 Union St, Nashville, TN 37219, phone number is 615-259-2000
Date: February 20, 2008
Time: 8:00 AM and end at 7:00 PM.
