Internet eases civic engagement in MN

I bring this up every year – but I think it’s a great example of how the Internet helps us to make informed decision more easily.

MyBallot is a user-friendly website that tells you exactly what will be on your ballot, provides links to more info and tells you where to go to vote based on your address.

Here’s the purpose of the site, according to the website itself…

In addition to being a quick and simple way to discover the names on your ballot before election day, the volunteers at MyBallot want to make it easy—even fun—for citizens to become engaged at election time. We hope that it will dramatically reduce the time and effort that you need to spend in order to become well-informed about your ballot choices. Just click on a candidate name (or referendum text) for more information.

Yes this is information that you have always been able to get in various places, such as the library, but it’s so fast and easy. Just another way the Internet makes life a little better!
