Compudyne buys Superior Broadband

I just happened to notice a quick note in the Duluth News Tribune on a local IT support company buying a local wireless provider. It will be fun to see what happens in and around Duluth as a result.

Here’s the news:

Compudyne, a provider of information technology support for small to mid-size businesses, announced it purchased Superior Broadband, a provider of broadband wireless Internet access solutions. SBB was acquired from American Consolidated Media, formerly Murphy McGinnis Media, and Compudyne plans to invest in and expand the reach of broadband services. SBB retained all six employees, one of which works for both Compudyne and SBB in a support services role.

  1. The purchase actually took place back on November 1st, but was just officially released via local news sources. This certainly will be an interesting development for the businesses of the region. Compudyne and Superior Broadband compliment eachother’s services completely. Compudyne provides complete IT services for businesses in the region, and Superior Broadband provides high bandwidth, high reliability circuits (both point-to-point and Internet) for businesses. This allows a company to work with one vendor from the Internet connection to the keyboard, and beyond. Simplicity in IT!

  2. That is a nice way to do it. I bet the customers love it. Do you have a feel whether more folks use broadband or are happier with their connectivity given the ready access to good tech support?

    Thanks! Ann
